Amlostat Indciations
For prevention of cardiovascular disorders in patients with hypertension with three underlying factors of cardiovascular risk, with cholesterol levels from normal to moderately elevated, without clinical manifestations of coronary heart disease, when in accordance with current guidelines for treatment deemed appropriate combined use of S (- ) amlodipine and low dose atorvastatin.
In the case of the ineffectiveness of diet and other non-pharmacological measures.
Contradictions
- Hypersensitivity to dihydropyridines, active ingredients of amlodipine and atorvastatin or to any other excipients
- Active liver disease or permanently inexplicably increased levels of serum transaminases, which is 3 times the upper limit of normal
- Combination with itraconazole, ketoconazole, and telithromycin
- Severe hypotension
- Shock (including cardiogenic shock)
- Obstruction of the outflow tract of the left ventricle (eg aortic stenosis higher degree)
- Hemodynamically unstable heart failure after acute myocardial infarction
- In patients with unstable angina and within 8 days after myocardial infarction
Dosage & Administration
The drug is intended for oral administration.
The usual starting dose is 2.5 mg / 10 mg 1 time a day.
The drug can be taken at any time of day with or without food.
Amlostat can be used both individually and in combination with antihypertensive drugs, but it can not be used with other calcium channel blockers or other statin.
Avoid combination drug with fibrates.
Patients with renal insufficiency: For patients with impaired renal function dose adjustment is required.
Patients with hepatic impairment: the drug is contraindicated in patients with active liver disease.
Elderly patients: no dosage adjustment is needed.
Children
The safety and efficacy of the drug to children have not been established, so it is not recommended in this age category of patients.
