Claritine Indications
Symptomatic treatment of allergic rhinitis and chronic idiopathic urticaria.
Contraindications
Claritine contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any other component of the drug.
Dosage & Administration
Orally. Tablets can be used regardless of the meal.
Dosage.
Adults and children over 12 years should take 1 tablet (10 mg loratadine) 1 every day.
For children aged 2 to 12 years dosage depends on body weight. When body weight over 30 kg: 10 mg (1 tablet) 1 every day. Children weighing less than 30 kg use the drug in the form of syrup.
Elderly patients.
No dosage adjustment is required in elderly people.
Patients with impaired hepatic function.
Patients with impaired liver function severe drug should be administered at a lower initial dose because they may decrease clearance of loratadine. For adults and children weighing more than 30 kg the recommended starting dose is 10 mg a day.
Patients with impaired renal function.
No need for dose adjustment in patients with impaired renal function.
