Povidone iodine Indiccations
Prevention of infection in abrasions, wounds, burns and minor surgical procedures.
Treatment of fungal and bacterial skin infections, pressure ulcers, venous ulcers.
Contraindications
· Individual intolerance and hypersensitivity to iodine and other components of the drug;
· Regular use in patients with impaired thyroid function (including colloidal nodular goiter, endemic goiter and Hashimoto's thyroiditis)
· Dermatitis herpetiformis Duhring;
· Renal failure;
· Before and after treatment or diagnosis with the use of radioactive iodine.
Dosage & Administration
Liniment used topically. After processing (cleaning and drying) damaged skin preparation applied a thin layer:
· To treat infections - 1-2 times a day;
· To prevent infection - 1-2 times a week until needed. In the treated skin can apply a bandage.
Treatment duration should not exceed 14 days. Do not use the drug longer than the deadline without consulting a doctor.
